"Truman"in Estepona on her way to Malabo
|
The Truman an ex-Norwegian ferryboat was chartered for regular ferry services in Guinea between Malabo- Bata and Malabo-Douala in 1985. We carried 500 ton cargo and 250 passengers. In Bata we created a new docking facillity in the puerto viejo and a ticket office. In Malabo we used the Navy shed and the muelle viejo.
The Douala run brought very needed provisions to the island. The Bata run was shared with an oversized Chinese passengerboat who took passengers for free. Our service improved clearly the availabillity of goods on the island but stopped due too very high running costs !
